2021 & 2022 Street Improvements

Overview
Street maintenance is one of the largest and most expensive responsibilities of Township government. White Bear Township is continuing to make improvements to their Pavement Management Program to preserve the Town’s 42.9 miles of local roads, provide for the safe and efficient travel of its citizens, retain property values, keep the city attractive and desirable, and minimize costs to the property owners and taxpayers for the Town. 

Project Information

White Bear Township is considering street improvements for the following streets: 

  • Birch Knoll Drive
  • Portland Avenue
  • Martin Way
  • Homewood Avenue
  • Lakewood Avenue
  • Stacker Boulevard
  • Stacker Place
  • Randy Avenue
  • Roth Place
  • Effress Road

The White Bear Township Pavement Management Program identified these streets for possible improvement in 2021 and 2022. On November 2, 2020, the White Bear Township Town Board ordered the preparation of a feasibility report for the Township’s 2021 / 2022 street improvements. Below is a map showing the street improvement areas studied in the feasibility report.

Project Updates:

June 18, 2021 Update #2 - An project informational flyer will be sent out next week. Contractor is preparing a construction schedule.

June 18, 2021 - XcelEnergy is finishing the new gas lines. Kuechle Underground, Inc. awarded the project. A start date hasn’t been determined yet.

May 4, 2021 @ 3:15 pm - XcelEnergy continues to install new gas lines. 

April 28, 2021 @ 3:00 pmXcelEnergy is installing the new gas lines. 

April 21, 2021 - Xcel Energy is excavating small holes to locate the existing utilities in preparation to install the new gas lines. 

April 19, 2021 - The activity that is starting to occur is private utility work performed by XcelEnergy to install new gas lines.

The street improvement project is just starting to go through the bidding process.

No work with the street project has started.
