Polar Lakes Playground Replacement Project

Overview

Beginning in early 2022 the Park Board began the planned replacement process for the existing playground. A Request for Bids (RFB) was prepared by staff and reviewed by the Park Board in March for recommendation of approval by the Town Board also in March. The RFB's were due on April 13th. Two RFB's were submitted for review and recommendation by the Park Board to the Town Board. One from Webber Recreation Design, Inc. and the other from St. Croix Recreation. The Town Board accepted the RFB's on May 2, 2022 and awarded the project to St. Croix Recreation for $485,000.00. Work will begin in mid-August with the anticipated completion by the end of September.  

Project Updates:

October 25, 2022 - St. Croix Recreation’s subcontractor will be in tomorrow to start laying out and installing the subject equipment.

September 21, 2022 - Playground equipment is currently being removed. The playground area is closed to all users until further notice. 

September 6, 2022 - With the delivery of the replacement playground equipment to the Public Works Storage Yard the week of August 29th, the project’s demolition and site preparation work is anticipated to begin this week. The installation of the replacement playground equipment is anticipated to begin the week of September 19th, with the installation of the playground surfacing in early October. All activities are weather pending. During the demolition, site preparation, playground and safety surfacing installation the playground will be closed to users.
