Hugo Road Watermain Project
The watermain on Hugo Road from Gaston Avenue to Taylor Avenue has failed multiple times in the previous years. This project will replace that watermain with new Ductile Iron Pipe, as well as reconnecting new services from the new watermain. The watermain replacement is to be completed prior to Ramsey County's Road Improvement Project.
On February 7, 2022 the White Bear Township Town Board ordered the preparations of plans and specifications for the Hugo Road Watermain Replacement project.
The Township awarded the project in the amount of $373,182.54 to Northdale Construction Company Inc., during the May 16, 2022 Town Board meeting. Construction is set to begin the week of June 12, 2022.
Thursday, July 14, 2022 – Contractor replacing valve on Hugo Road between park and houses. Road is closed with signage in place. Boat launch remains accessible from the north at County J.
Tuesday July 12, 2022 - Contractor re-working material for compaction. Watermain shutoff scheduled for Thursday July 14th. Impacted residents have been notified. Boat and Shelter access to Bald Eagle will remain, but access is only available from the north at County Road J.
Monday July 11, 2022 - Contractor replacing services on Hugo Road today.
Friday July 8, 2022 - Contractor working on grading and site cleanup between Taylor and Gaston.
Thursday July 7, 2022 - Contractor is working at the Bald Eagle boat launch to install a valve. Temporary water shut down at 9am. Impacted residents were notified on Tuesday. Boat access remains open.
Wednesday July 6, 2022 - Contractor completed watermain installation and is performing testing. Contractor is moving to Bald Eagle boat launch to begin work. Access to boat launch will remain throughout the project.
Tuesday July 5, 2022 - Contractor making final connections near Taylor Avenue and working south. Temporary watermain shutdown scheduled for Thursday July 7th, notices were given to impacted residents.
Friday, July 1, 2022 - Contractor not working Friday or during the holiday weekend.
Thursday, June 30, 2022 - Contractor continues replacing watermain between Gaston Ave and Taylor Avenue.
Tuesday, June 28, 2022 - Contractor connecting watermain at Taylor Avenue today. Watermain shut down scheduled until 5 pm. All impacted residents were notified.
Monday, June 27, 2022 - Contractor replacing watermain between Taylor Ave and Gaston Ave. Watermain shutdown rescheduled for Tuesday. Notices will be given to impacted residents.
Friday, June 24, 2022 - Contractor replacing watermain between Taylor Ave and Gaston Ave. Watermain shutdown scheduled for Monday. Notices will be given to impacted residents. The Contractor is not planning to work Saturday.
Thursday, June 23, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - Water was restored to all residents as of 1pm today.
Thursday June 23, 2022 - Contractor is making the connection to existing watermain at Taylor Avenue.
Wednesday, June 22, 2022 @ 1:15 pm - Watermain shutdown scheduled for Thursday June 23rd. Impacted residents received this notice.
Wednesday, June 22, 2022 - Contractor continues watermain work at the intersection of Gaston Avenue and Hugo Road. Work will continue north towards Taylor Avenue.
Tuesday, June 21, 2022 @ 7:40 pm - Water was restored to residents on Gaston Ave around 4pm. Water was restored to residents south of Gaston at 7;30 pm. We apologize for the delay as there were unforeseen issues.
Tuesday, June 21, 2022 - Watermain work begins. Contractor making connection at Gaston avenue and continuing work north on Hugo Road.
Monday, June 20, 2022 - Contractor mobilizing to the project site. Watermain replacement to begin tomorrow, Tuesday June 21, 2022.
Friday, June 17, 2022 – Contractor continues to prepare for watermain work. Contractor is continuing to set up Temporary Watermain. Temporary Watermain shut down to occur on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022. A notice was given to impacted residents.
Wednesday, June 15, 2022 – Roadway Reclamation (road is being turned to gravel) to occur. Please continue to follow roadway detour.
Wednesday, June 8, 2022 - A project flyer was handed out to property owners.
