Candidacy Filing

Affidavits of Candidacy

Individuals get their names on the ballot by filing an Affidavit of Candidacy during the filing period. Affidavits are available online and at Ramsey County filing offices or at White Bear Township Administrative Building.  Residents interested in running for office are able to file an Affidavit of Candidacy starting August 2, 2022 through August 16, 2022.

If you bring a signed affidavit to the Ramsey County office or White Bear Township Administrative Building, it must also be notarized. If you sign the form at one of the filing offices, staff can certify the affidavit. If you file in person and do not have your signature notarized beforehand, do not sign the affidavit until you get to the filing office. A fee or petition in place of the fee is due at the time of filing. The fee can be paid with cash or check (no credit cards). The fee for White Bear Township Town Board Supervisor is $2.00.

A packet of filing information, including affidavit of candidacy, address of residence form,  information on campaign finance , voter information lists, and the IRS information handout will be provided to all individuals who file.
